John Serop Takoushian, 91, Of Teaneck

TEANECK, N.J. -- John Serop Takoushian, of Teaneck, died Nov. 16. He was 91. 

He was born Aug. 20, 1925.

In 1942, he graduated from Stuyvesant High School at the age of 16. At 18, he was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in the Philippines during World War II, where he received many medals as a demolition specialist. After the war, he attended Pratt Institute, where he studied architecture. He retired as a color photo engraver. He was a member of the American Legion Post 21 in Cresskill. 

He was predeceased by his parents, Casper and Sarah Takoushian. 

He is survived by his wife Sonia; and siblings, Charles, Andrew and Agnes Melkon. 

The family requests that in lieu of flowers donations be made to St. Leon's Armenian Church, 12-61 Saddle River Road, Fair Lawn  07410.
